Back to Basics - Alexandra Sessions!
The recent Easter holidays saw us head up to Alexandra, in regional Victoria to write and record songs for the next batch of demoing. We made our way to Alex, through the fire affected areas of the Black Spur, Marysville, and Buxton areas which was a very moving experience. Just the scale and magnitude of the destruction is completely overwhelming. Our thoughts and hearts go out to all those that have been affected.
Arriving at a small farm just north of Alexandra, we set up all our equipment and recording gear in what must be one of the biggest sheds in Victoria. We drank, wrote, recorded, drank and played extremely loud for six days coming away with 8 new songs and feeling really pumped about what we achieved. It was great to get out of town and leave all the distractions behind focusing on music and nothing else. Can’t wait to record them in July as they’re a big step up on the first lot recorded in December.
Big shout out must go to Gazza, Marita, Tom and Jack who put up with us, fed us and let us take over their shed. Special mention must also go to Boof, the big balled, rock eating, (it is thought he must have been an Archaeologist in the past life!!!) English Staffie who provided much entertainment. Can’t wait to get up there in the fresh air again.

Hi, Catherine from the Hawthorn all those years ago - so you were in my home town and you didn’t play at the local pub? Make sure you schedule a gig when im back!
Hey Catherine,
Didn’t play this time around but we’ll be back up there soon. All my Dad’s side is from Alex so we get up there frequently.
Hope you’re well. CAMA
