Farewell Yiorgs!
Sadly, long-time Zoophyter Yiorgo Sgourakis (pictured right) will no longer be treading the boards with us as of our album launch on July 20th. The departure of the Greek Adonis marks the end of a great chapter in the Zoophyte story and we are all truly disappointed about the departure of our barrel-chested friend.
Now where are we are going to get our weekly fill of tales about the intrigue and emotion surrounding the mighty South Melbourne Soccer Club?
Everyone at camp Zoophyte wishes you all the best in your future endeavors Yiorgs. Whatever you end up doing we are sure that you will kill it!
But don’t fret ladies! We have an equally eligible replacement in the form of Andrew Gilpin. While his guns are in need of serious work, his chops on the bass are well and truly up to scratch!
A long time friend of Majjery, Gilps has been honing his craft in funk bands around Melbourne for many moons. You may have even spotted him and Maj laying down some fat grooves on a Melbourne street corner in recent months… Don Smith & The Bush Mechanics we salute you!
Welcome aboard Gilps!
