The good vibes will be a flowing, with supports from local quiche makers, and all round nice guys, The Happy Endings, plus solo performances from Tom Tuena and Kate Gogarty (Syd). Doors will open at 8.30pm with Zoophyte due on stage at 11.15pm.

Friday May 14th marks the RoadTrip 2010 finale with a FREE concert being held at “The Refectory” at the University of Canberra.

Tickets are free and are available through the Road Trip website, with a massive lineup including Evermore, Blue King Brown, Diafrix, Bonjah and much more. Doors open at 6pm.

He spends the majority of his time at video shops, just hanging out and irritating small Dalmatians (a breed of dog that has a white coat with black or brown spots).

Held on the eve of Easter, Thursday April 1st, this will be the first gig with our new afro-laden guitarist Rob Muinos. Be sure to come down and check it out. Zoophyte will be on stage at 11:45pm playing a range of their new material in a 45 minute set.

Going to be an absolutely cracking evening, with a special guest joining us on stage for the first time in 3 years.

The event is being held on Saturday 16th of January at the East Brunswick Club with performances from King George, Quarterlife Crisis and The Shade Collective. Tickets are $12 presale or $15 at the door. Come down and support this great charity.

The event will be held to raise money for Oxfam Australia’s work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as part of the Close the Gap campaign, Australia’s largest campaign to improve Indigenous health.

Doors open from 7pm, with Zoophyte hitting the stage from 10:15pm to 11pm.

Two weeks out and the gig was shaping up to be a huge night with tickets starting to move and a buzz starting to generate around town. Then we were hit with the news that Az (our guitarist) had injured his hand whilst attempting back flip (with a checky twist) on the trampoline. He was unable to play and we were a guitarist down!!! GUTTED!!!

We immediately recruited our old guitarist James Johnson to learn the new set of songs, and learn them in record time. The only song Juddy was familiar with was ‘Believe’, off Another Point Of View which he had recorded on back in 2007, so it was back to the rehearsal room with Juddy, as he attempted to digest 13 new tracks. We were all amazed how quick he could pick up the parts and replicate the tones so quickly and precisely… and in only 14 days.

The night of the gig was everything we had hoped for and more with just under 700 people in the room creating an electric vibe. Big thanks to Ben Smith and co who opened the night, and our good friends The Happy Endings who put on a cracking show. It was great sharing the stage and a beer backstage with the boys They were awesome!!! Thanks also to Toph, Dave, Kate, Gab, Miles, Myles, Jen and Penny for all your help and a massive, MASSIVE SHOUT OUT to Juddly for filling in at short notice and making the gig possible for us.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who was there and supported our wee band. We hope you had a fun night. We are thrilled to be back playing big shows with our new material. Stay tuned over the next few weeks for some live clips from the gig.

Decidedly more rough and tumble – the new Zoophyte tunes are a walk on the wildside and best enjoyed in the confines of a hardworkin’ and hardrockin’ pub. Supported by local acts The Happy Endings (Last show before they head off on their US and European Tour) and soulful singer/songwriter Ben Smith.

Since the return to the Melbourne scene in February, when the boys opened up for Bonjah in a packed Gershwin room of the Espy Hotel, they have supported local band Straylove with their residency at the Evelyn throughout March, as well as gigs at Belgrave’s Rubys and a set at Melbourne’s Moomba celebrations along the Yarra River.

Building confidence and getting tighter with every gig, the boys headlined the Espy front bar on Anzac Day and put on a ripping set to a full house of happy revellers, the new material receiving positive feedback. With the addition of new songs and the announcement of their first ticketed headline show (The Corner Hotel – Friday June 5) in nearly 18 months, it is fair to say that the wheels on the Zoophyte train are well and truely back in motion.
